Ever thought a dream might pass you by?
Nineteen-year old CeCe Mackenzie is determined to make her dreams come true. She heads for Nashville with not much more to her name than a guitar, a Walker Hound named Hank Junior and an old car she’d inherited from her grandma called Gertrude. But when Gertrude ends up on the side of I-40 in flames, Nashville has never seemed farther away. Help arrives in the form of two Georgia football players headed for the Nashville dream as well. When Holden Ashford and Thomas Franklin stop to offer CeCe and Hank Junior a ride, fate may just give a nod to serendipity and meant to be. Because while CeCe is chasing after her dream, she might find love as well.
New Adult Romance where “the characters are so alive you can almost hear them next to you.”

When did you first start writing? And when were you first published?
I wrote my first story when I was nine years old about a pony named Sunny. That pretty much hooked me, and I knew I wanted to be a writer even in high school. I started writing my first novel in college, but I was twenty-nine by the time I got my first novel published with Harlequin Superromance.

What is it about 'chick lit' / 'romance' that appeals to you the most? Do you read other genres?
I love romance and relationship stories because of their focus on character. It’s the people and their why that draws me in and makes me want to know more. And romance gives the reader the chance to fall in love with every book. I do read other genres because I like to know what else is out there.

Can you tell us a little about your latest release?
My latest release is Nashville - Part Nine - You, Me and a Palm Tree. It’s part of a series I have absolutely loved writing because I so much love Nashville and its songwriting community.

What inspired you to write it?
I spent a couple of years going back and forth to Nashville learning how to write songs and co-writing with other songwriters. I loved every minute of it, but at some point my responsibilities as a mom took precedence over my being away from home so I decided to bring my experiences there to life in the only other way I knew how: on the pages of a book.

If it was made into a film, who would you cast as the main characters?
Scott Eastwood as Holden. And Emma Stone as CeCe.

What is your favorite book that made it to the big screen?
The Horse Whisperer by Nicholas Evans.

What was the last book you read and would you recommend it?
Before You by JoJo Moyes. I loved it and highly recommend it.

Where do you currently write? And where would be your dream writing location?

I write wherever the day takes me. At Starbucks, in my car, on my golf cart in the middle of our pasture, on an airplane or in my house. A dream writing location? Hotel Splendido in Portofino.

Tell us a random fact about yourself.
At one point, I had forty-two dogs. All rescues. All loves of my life.

Tell us an interesting fact about where you live.
Franklin County, Virginia has been known as the moonshine capital of the world. :)

What inspires you as an author?
Connecting with readers inspires me. I love hearing from readers who feel as if they have come to know my characters.

Do you have a muse?
I don’t think I do. :) I write anywhere and everywhere and have learned to pretty much make it fit into the other parts of my life.

Who would play you in the movie about your life?
If this is a fantasy question with me admitting this would never happen in a million years, I’ll say Michelle Pfeiffer. :)

What are your (writing) plans for the future?
I like writing series. I love being able to continue the next book with the same characters and not to have to leave them. I’ve started another series called Smith Mountain Lake. The first two books are Blue Wide Sky and Dragonfly Summer. Smith Mountain Lake is a place I’ve loved all my life and it is really fun to set stories there.

Tell us one thing that's on your bucket list.
That’s a hard one because honestly, I feel like I’ve been blessed with so much love in my life, a wonderful husband, four beautiful daughters, dogs and horses who are my wonderful companions, that I don’t know what else I could want. I love new adventures, traveling and trying new things, but I am content.

What do you listen to whilst writing?
I have an app of ocean sounds that I like to listen to when I’m writing. It’s the kind of sound that blocks out distractions but helps me focus.

Name one of your all time favourite songs.
Flashlight by Parliament.
